From the title of our church you can tell we are evangelical. The word comes from the Greek noun ‘evangelion’ translated as glad tidings, good or joyful news or gospel. As evangelicals we believe and proclaim the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have accepted the good news for ourselves and through Jesus Christ we have been made right with God and now we want others to enter and enjoy this relationship with God.
To be evangelical is to hold true to four things;
At BEC we practice baptism by full immersion in our warm baptistery. We believe that people should be baptised when they are old enough to understand what baptism means for them, and when they are able to affirm their own personal journey of salvation through Jesus Christ.
For parents we offer a Thanksgiving service, where we pray and give thanks for new life and welcome children into the community.
